GRAPHIC DESIGN

PHOTO DIGITAL ART

"True Colours"
Photo Digital Art created by Jacqueline LeBlanc

In my photo digital art piece titled “True Colours” my model, Breanna Purdy, expresses the emotions of anger and sadness. I wanted Breanna to be over dramatic with angry and sad to emphasize the emotions portrayed. My inspiration for this piece was the tragedy and comedy face masks with a colourful spin to it. This project let students have the freedom to express their own interpretation on the theme of “Colourspell”. Even though this project had so much freedom to it, it can be very challenging to figure out what idea would work well to compliment the theme. This photo was created on a iMac computer using Adobe Photoshop CS3.

LOGO DESIGN

"LeBlanc Photo Food Stylist Logo"

For my personal logo, I wanted to include my passion for photography as well as my love for culinary arts. I combined the two by creating an optical illusion with the camera body. For this project I used the program Adobe Illustrator on iMac computers and created the fork and knife from scratch. I wanted to keep my design simple as well as add a small pop of colour where needed. I chose these colours because the black text really popped against the pastel purple, making it catch the eye.

DVD CASE COVER DESIGN

"Grade 9 Orientation DVD Case"
DVD Case created by Jacqueline LeBlanc

In my grade 9 Orientation DVD Case I really wanted to capture all the fun we have here at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School. Grade 9 Orientation is one of many examples of the fun activities that really unite our school together as one. For the background, I chose a rainbow because it shows that we are accepting and it catches the eye. I used grey text to go along with our schools colours, white text to pop against the darker colours and black text to remain professional. As for the photos, I really wanted to capture all the happy smiling faces and the bonding that happens during the Orientation.

LOGO DESIGN SKETCHES

"Logo Design Sketches"

When beginning to brainstorm my logo, here are some of the sketches I came up with. With my logo,  wanted to combine my love for baking and photography. I didn't want to narrow it down to just a food stylist so I did design some strictly photography logos. I tried out different colours but leaned towards colours that were mainly pastel.  The design I felt would work best for my logo was the upper middle since it held a nice composure and flowed well. The end product turned out great and I am extremely happy with it.
